Design Our Tomorrow – International Ideathon

International Ideathon brought together experts, researchers, and VET professionals from Portugal, Belgium, and Türkiye to develop innovative, climate-neutral solutions for the rural-urban fringe. The main aim of this intensive three-day programme was to strengthen vocational knowledge, interdisciplinary cooperation, and practical problem-solving capacities related to sustainable peri-urban development. The activity combined experiential learning and participatory planning, moving from technical field observations of peri-urban challenges to intensive interdisciplinary co-design workshops in Bursa. International teams collaborated closely to transform sustainable ideas into actionable urban planning strategies, focusing on shared country experiences, local governance structures, and transferable solutions for environmental, energy, mobility, and social inclusion challenges.
